Her solo exhibits include the Triangle Gallery at the Old Town Arts Center in Chicago, Illinois and Artlink Heritage Square Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona. Wilderman’s Corporate Collectors include Intel Corporation in Chandler, Arizona.
Wilderman’s approach to painting is to pour layers of acrylics or watercolor onto wet paper or canvas creating biomorphic shapes and linear sharpness. Her earliest poured paintings were bold and abstract followed by the atmospheric illusion series. After 9/11, she began experimenting with various techniques, formats and compositions and developed the symbolic paintings. In 2003, she started weaving two poured paintings together to create a systematic, geometric and textural composition. And currently, she combines the processes of pouring and painting directly on canvas and paper with mixed media.
After painting directly with watercolors for more than 20 years Wilderman finds the spontaneity, the fluidity and the stylistic eclecticism of pouring acrylics and watercolors to be a freeing and spiritual experience. And it is through this process that she has found her voice.
Wilderman is represented by Gallery 225 in Gilbert, Arizona and Vision Gallery in Chandler, Arizona. And she teaches watercolor classes and private lessons to adults and children. Contact the Artist for more information.
